Broadening Your Horizons: Film Suggestions for Any and Everybody

This post requires any/everybody's participation.  Tell me one of your favorite movies, and I'll give you a recommendation for one similar that might compliment your taste in film.  Let's give it a try.  Post a comment indicating one of your favorite films, and I'll do my best to broaden your filmic palate.

    Hi Will, If I only get a chance to see one movie this holiday weekend, what would you recommend? I haven't seen anything since Away We Go, and I loved that. Cindy

    RE: Cindy - If you liked Away We Go, check out 500 Days of Summer. It's a lot of fun and very inventive in terms of form.

    RE: Austin - I'll give you a few to choose from: Primal Fear, Arlington Road, or 12 Monkeys. Lemme know what you think

    OMG Will, I'm so glad you recommended 500 Days of Summer.
    I'm not really here to ask for a recommendation, but I am here to tell you I love the blog and I am "publicly following" it. Sorry It's taken me so long to get back to you. I plan on reading through some of your stuff and doing a write up on my Ingrid Bergman/ Classic Film blog. Is that cool w/ you? I think you checked out my other blog before, "Seriously?" on which I'm doing reviews, but my focus is now on my Bergman blog.

    My favorite movie to rent is Wallstreet.... I have watched it a ton of times. Best scene is the one when Bud first meets Gordon. He finally gets into his office and the sound of the door opening and then him walking in.... I think I will watch it again tonight.....

    Vega- check out 'love actually,' or 'when harry met sally.' or, if you want a darker love story, 'match point'
